Another Flower Pattern (6 petals)

 Here's another flower I found in  this weekend in

I love the larger center, lack of gaps, and ease of this double-layer daisy.

For those of you who are scared of new stitches, there's no back post single crochet!

Grab the following items and give it a try:

Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, 2 colors (I used Sugar 'n' Cream Robin's Egg Blue and Tangerine)

F crochet hook (unless you crochet loosely, then I'd suggest using a G hook)

Yarn needles

Something to embellish

Notes: BLO means work in the back loop of the stitch only. FLO means to work in the front loop.

Ready?
Pattern:

Chain 2. (dos cadenas)


Round 1: 6 SC in the first chain. Don't slip stitch to join.
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 in all). Sl st in BLO of the next stitch.



Round 3: We're creating the back row of petals first. *Ch 3, skip 1, sc in BLO of next stitch.* Five times. Ch 3, sl st in first ch 3 space to join. You should now have 6 ch 3 spaces.



Round 4: Ch 2, 5 dc, ch 2, sl st. Work *Sl st , ch 2, 5 dc, ch 2, sl st* in each of the remaining ch 3 spaces. You should have 6 petals. Cut yarn.


Round 5: Join your second color yarn in any of the front loops that you left unworked. *ch 2, skip 1, sc in FLO of next stitch* five times. Ch 2, sl st in the first ch 2 space to join.






Round 6: Ch 2, 4 dc, ch 2, sl st. Work *Sl st , ch 2, 4 dc, ch 2, sl st* in each of the remaining ch 3 spaces. You should now have 6 petals in front of your original row of petals.



I attached my finished flower to a simple, double-stranded headband using a small felt circle and hot glue.





My finished product looks like this. I love how the ribbon closure makes these headbands adjustable. This headband will fit my 1 year old or a 6 year old.



This pattern can be used for embelishment of a scarf, sweater, hats, slippers etc.

Crochet a Rose


Roses are big this year as fashion accents, and our crocheted design lets you make them any size you

want. Your choice of yarn weight is what determines the finished size. Designer Terry Kimbrough

originally made her rose in delicate Size 30 cotton crochet thread, but we started with a giant version

made of bulky weight Lion® Suede yarn. To get other sizes, we experimented with worsted weight and

sport yarns and also adapted the pattern to have fewer petals. Have fun!

Crochet Rose

Materials: Yarn or crochet cotton thread of your choice color and weight; appropriate-size crochet hook

(see yarn label for suggested size); yarn needle.

For our Large Roses, we used Lion Brand® Lion® Suede bulky weight yarn in Rose with a J (6 mm)

hook; Caron® Simply Soft® medium/worsted weight yarn in Rubine Red with an H (5 mm) hook; and

Red Heart® LusterSheen fine yarn in Dark Mulberry with an F (3.75 mm) hook. For the Medium Rose,

we used TLC® Cotton Plus medium/worsted weight yarn in Hot Pink with an H (5 mm) hook.

Finished Size: Size will be determined by type of yarn or thread used. Gauge is not important for this

project.

Large Rose

Leaving a 10" length for sewing, chain 57.

Row 1 (Wrong side): (Dc, ch 2, dc) in sixth ch from hook (5 skipped chs count as first dc plus ch 2),

*ch 2, skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch; repeat from * across: 36 sps.

Leaving a 10" length for sewing, chain 36.

Row 1 (Wrong side): (Dc, ch 2, dc) in sixth ch from hook (5 skipped chs count as first dc plus ch 2),

*ch 2, skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch; repeat from * across: 22 sps.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn; 5 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp, (6 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp) 5

times, (9 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next sp) 5 times; finish off leaving a 10" length for sewing.

Thread yarn needle with yarn end from beginning chain. With right side facing and beginning with first

petal made, refer to photo to roll Rose; sew to secure as you roll. Then thread needle with ending yarn

and sew to secure.

Finishing: Depending on how the rose is to be used, you may sew or tie or glue it to another item or add

a magnet or jewelry pin back. Be creative!

Make a quick flower with just a little bit of yarn...

• You can use ANY weight yarn, just make sure to crochet with the correct size hook for the yarn
• if the beginning chain is too small or too big for your wrist, adjust accordingly and the pattern will still work up great.

beg = beginning
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
join = join with sl st
* = repeat between *'s

Medio Punto o Punto Bajo

El punto bajo se utiliza para las partes del diseño que requieren una zona sólida, es también una buena base sobre la que se pueden edificar los puntos más abiertos. Este punto se suele utilizar en las aplicaciones al crochet a los objetos de la casa. Para cambiar de vuelta y colocar la aguja en la posición correcta sólo es necesario una sola cadeneta. Tejer 21 cadeneta. El primer punto se trabaja en la 2ª cadeneta.

Segunda vuelta. Para comenzar la segunda vuelta y colocar la aguja en la posición correspondiente sólo basta con una cad, la que se conoce como cadeneta para dar la vuelta.

Ejemplo del punto bajo. Su apretada textura sirve de base para puntos más abiertos.

Materials

• Size E (3.5mm) crochet hook

• Size F (4.0mm) crochet hook

Directions

With smaller hook (size E), Chain 25.

Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc now and throughout), hdc in each st around (25 st). Join to first hdc with sl st.

Round 2: Ch 2. *Ch 1, skip 1 st, 2 hdc in next st* Repeat around until beginning. Ch 1, 1 hdc in same last st. Join to first hdc with sl st.

Round 3: Ch 2. 1 hdc in first ch-1 space. *2 hdc in next ch-1* Repeat around until beginning. Join to first hdc with sl st. (Note: Do NOT ch-1 between each hdc cluster.)

Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st across (25 st).

Round 5: Repeat Round 2

Round 6: Repeat Round 3

Round 7: Ch 2, hdc in each st across (25 st).

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

algunos tips para lavar la ropa tejida para bebés y no desintegrarla o reducirla en el intento. Espero les sirva! :)

Mirar la etiqueta de la lana que se usó para tejer la prenda


Esto es muy util hacerlo ANTES de tirar las etiquetas. Ya que algunas lanas son lavables a mano y otras pueden ir al lavarropas. Y para las que puedan ir al lavarropas, tambien suele decir a que temperatura debe estar el agua (para que no encoja).



Usar agua tibia en vez de caliente

Mucho cuidado con la temperatura del agua. Si está muy caliente podemos comenzar el proceso de enfieltrado de la lana.... esto es romper la estructura de las fibras y convertirla lentamente en pañolenzi (o fieltro). Lo mejor es usar agua tibia o natural (35° máximo)..



Lavar a mano siempre que se pueda

Como la ropa de bebés es diminuta, lo usual es que todas teminemos lavandola a mano. Para ésto lo ideal es usar detergentes especiales para tejidos de lana, ya que sus componentes serán mas amables con nuestra delicada prenda. Si no, podés usar shampoo suave (como el jhonsons bebe).



Usar poco detergente

Para evitar tener que enjuagar mucho rato la ropa de lana (que tiende a desgastar mucho la prenda) lo mejor es usar poca cantidad de detergente. Y para que quede mas suave el tejido, podes poner un poquito de crema de enjuague para el cabello en el agua.



Prendas de lana blanca

Para que no se amarilleén con el tiempo lo que se puede hacer es agregar dos cucharadas de agua oxigenada por litro de aguja.



Prendas de lana de color

Para que mantengan los colores podemos agregar un chorrito de vinagre de alcohol al agua en el ultimo enjuague (11 cucharadas por cada 5 litros de agua).



No refregar ni retorcer las prendas

Al lavarla nunca refrieguen con fuerza o retuerzan la prenda para escurrir el agua. Esto haría que la prenda comenzara a soltar pelitos que forman las temidas bolitas de lana sobre el tejido. Lo que pueden hacer es presionar con los nudillos suavemente contra el fondo del balde para que el agua pase por la prenda, y para escurrir hacer una bolita en las manos y apretarla un poco.



Nunca levantar la prenda cuando esta empapada de agua

Cuando estamos lavando una mancha tremenda de zapallo, todas queremos mirar a ver si la estamos logrando quitar. Nunca levanten la prenda llena de aguja en el aire ya que el peso del agua hará que se estiiiiiire y pierda su forma. Lo mejor es espiar levantando apenas por encima del agua.





Enrollar en una toalla para escurrir el exceso de agua

Cómo no podemos retorcer la prenda, con solamente presionandola un poco no le quitamos mucha agua. Una cosa que podemos hacer es colocarla sobre una toalla y enrrollarlas ambas como un pionono. Presionamos suavemente y la toalla absorberá el exceso de agua de nuestra prenda.



Secar las prendas sobre una mesa

Todas las prendas de lana se deben secar sobre una superficie plana, donde podemos con las manos devolverle la forma a la prenda si quedó algo estirada. Pueden poner debajo una toalla limpia para que absorba el agua. Si están apuradas NUNCA se tienen por secarlas cerca de una fuente de calor porque lo unico que lograrán en encojer la prenda.



Como quitar las manchas mas temidas

Aqui les dejo una tablita con los productos a usar para quitar los diferentes tipos de manchas. Por lo general esto se hace ANTES del lavado.







Tipo de Mancha Cómo quitarla

Cereza frotar suavemente con agua y amoníaco, luego lavar normalmente.

Banana Mojar la prenda con glicerina líquida tibia, este elemento aclara la mancha sin dañar el tejido. Debemos tener paciencia siempre alternando con una solución jabonosa de agua templada (ni fría, ni caliente), con jabón líquido.

Gelatina pasar vinagre sobre la mancha usando una esponja y una buena base para separar la mancha del resto de la prenda. Si la ponemos un rato al sol esto puede ser de gran ayuda.

Espinacas frotar con una papa cruda, luego lavar con aguja y jabón.

Remolachas con jugo de limón y agua bien fria

Zanahoria y Zapallo Usar un paño claro mojado en amoníaco y agua (no oler y usar guantes) o bicarbonato de sodio diluido en agua tibia. Sin demorar, lavar con agua y jabón.

Salsa de tomate frota con un algodón embebido en alcohol metílico.

Té echarle zumo de limón

Helado si no sale con agua tibia, probá echarle agua tibia con un poquito de agua oxigenada

Caramelos Agua oxigenada y agua en partes iguales. Quita la tinta que traen los caramelos.

Chocolate Aplicar agua caliente, mezclar agua y un poco de amoníaco.

Cesped Refregar con glicerina y luego lavarlas normalmente.

Otra opción es pasar alcohol isopropil o desnaturalizado sobre la mancha de pasto, y luego sumergir la prenda en una solución de agua tibia y detergente.

Barro aplicar una yema de huevo sobre la mancha para que el barro salga más fácilmente, si quedan vestigios de grasa quitar con alcohol 90°.

Orina con una esponja humedecida en agua mineral con gas. Secar con un paño limpio y repetir varias veces la operación hasta eliminar todos los restos.

Vómito mezcla de 2 cucharadas de amoníaco en un litro de agua y utiliza un paño o trapo para aplicarla sobre la mancha, dando vuelta el trapo, para que siempre estén en contacto con la mancha una parte limpia del mismo.

Tinta de bolígrafo echar alcohol 90° sobre la mancha y frotar con un paño blanco. Cuidado que la tinta no pase del otro lado, coloquen dentro de la prenda otro paño blanco.



meter la parte manchada en leche bien caliente, solo poner y sacar la parte manchada hasta que se vaya enfriando la leche, volver a calentar y repetir hasta que salga. (Gracias a Carolina por el tip!)

Lápiz labial tratar la prenda con un solvente para la limpieza en seco o con alcohol 90°, y después lavar en una solución de detergente líquido y amoníaco.





Bueno había tips para miles de manchas más, intenté recopilar los que serían usuales en la ropa de un bebé... si conocen alguno más escribanme asi lo agrego a la lista.

Editor's note: This great technique of working both items of a pair at the same time can be used for everything from socks to gloves. Since tension changes over time, it helps to ensure that your tension is the same on both pieces!
